Steph created the Six For Sunday challenge, and this quarter’s prompts are here! This week it’s books that have been on my TBR for far too long. Last month I actually read Russian Roulette by Anthony Horowitz, which would have been absolutely top of the list as I procrastinated it for nearly seven years before reading it. But that’s not TBR any more, so I’ll see what I can find on my shelves.
- Moriarty: The Hound of the D’Urbervilles by Kim Newman
- The Adventures of Moriarty edited by Maxim Jakubowski
I bought both of these while I was at uni, fully intending on reading them right away – and then uni happened and I never got there. I’m gonna get to them soon, though! Especially the short story collection, because I want to read through all of my short story collections soon.
- Inheritance by Christopher Paolini
The Eragon series was literally formative for me, but I’ve never finished reading them. Yes I’m embarrassed about it. I stopped reading Brisingr to let a friend catch up after a huge plot twist, and that was in 2008. I still haven’t finished Brisingr, so I haven’t read Inheritance. Once I get my hands on a copy of Eragon and Inheritance (I have the other two) I’m gonna reread the first three and finish this series!
- The Odyssey translated by Emily Wilson
This one hasn’t been on my TBR forever, but it’s been on my ‘currently reading’ forever. I really enjoy it, but it’s a slow going read so I tend to pick up a little bit at a time and put it down again. I’ll finish it one day, but uh, not soon probably.
- Followed by Frost by Charlie N. Holmberg
I don’t know exactly when I bought this, but it must have been a while ago. I think I read the Paper Magician series in 2016, and I must have bought this not long afterwards because it’s by the same author, and then I lost it to the dark depths of my kindle library. When I deleted a load of books I was never going to read, I kept this one, which means I am going to read it. One day. I swear.
- Wonder Woman: Warbringer by Leigh Bardugo
I pre-ordered this one, because I love Leigh Bardugo and I love Wonder Woman. And then I started reading it and just couldn’t get into it. I’m such a mood reader that I think I read it at the wrong time, and I’m definitely going to get back to it at some point.
See you next week for the next Six For Sunday!
I’m a total mood reader too and I have loads of books sitting on my TBR pile for ages waiting for me to be in the right mood.

I hope you revisit Wonder Woman sometime because I thought it was a really fun book! I also loved Catwoman by Sarah J Maas! 🙃
