Everyone's been talking about this book all year, and I've been patiently waiting for the UK release date (January 7th, 2021). So when I was offered the chance to review it for the upcoming blog tour, I don't think I've ever answered an email so quickly in my life! And boy did The Henna Wars hold up to the hype! REVIEW | Cute Mutants Volume 2: Young, Gifted and Queer | SJ Whitby
I love these superqueeroes, and this is absolutely my favourite discovery of 2020. I adore this series and each book is better than the one before. I reviewed Cute Mutants Vol 1: Mutant Pride on the blog, here, and I've got a review of Cute Mutants Vol 3: The Demon Queer Saga coming out soon! These are an insta buy for me, and I recommend them highly. Rating: 5 stars!
BLOG TOUR REVIEW | Cute Mutants Volume 1: Mutant Pride | SJ Whitby
There's an outside chance that this might be my perfect book. Sapphics, mutants, a sentient bat and Pillow. If you like funny, nerdy prose and superqueero characters, this is your perfect book too. Not to mention look at that cover, all three volumes (two released and one upcoming) have covers as beautiful as the content. Rating: 5 stars
BLOG TOUR REVIEW | The Cousins | Karen M. McManus
I'm a huge Karen M. McManus fan, and I reviewed One of Us is Lying here and One of Us is Next here. So when I saw the chance to get on a blog tour for this incredible book with The Write Reads, I jumped at it. I absolutely loved this complicated family drama between estranged cousins and their mysterious grandmother. Rating: 5 stars
BLOG TOUR REVIEW | The Key to Fear | Kristin Cast | The Key #1
I'll admit, my attention was caught by this gorgeous cover and by the tagline 'imagine a world where touching was illegal'. Perhaps for obvious reasons this seemed like it might be an interesting read and, despite what it might seem, was a good distraction from our viral pandemic. I hadn't read any of Kristin Cast's previous books, but I had heard of them and decided this was a good way to dip into her writing. Rating: 3.5 stars
BLOG TOUR REVIEW | The Beast and the Bethany | Jack Meggitt-Phillips
Rating: 4 stars! Thanks to Egmont Publishing for the review copy of this book, and to Write Reads for letting me join the tour - it has not affected my honest review. The plot: Ebenezer Tweezer is a youthful 511-year-old. He keeps a beast in the attic of his mansion, who he feeds all manner … Continue reading BLOG TOUR REVIEW | The Beast and the Bethany | Jack Meggitt-Phillips
BLOG TOUR REVIEW | Iron Heart | Nina Varela | Crier’s War #2
Crier's War carved out a space in my head when I first read it back in February and has completely refused to leave since, so when I got the opportunity to join this blog tour? I leaped at it. Iron Heart is a perfect follow up and make sure to pick it up on September 8th 2020 in the US and October 14th 2020 for the UK.
The Bone Shard Daughter by Andrea Stewart (Blog Tour Review)
I honestly have been so hyped for this book for so long that I couldn't believe it when I made it onto the blog tour! An established f/f relationship, bone magic, travelling islands and a magical creature with personality? Sign me the hell up. I can't wait to get my physical copy of this book after release date, because I think this might be even better on the reread. Rating: 4.5 stars
Interview with Tiffany Tsao, author of THE MAJESTIES
THE MAJESTIES came out on August 6th, from Pushkin Press. I reviewed it and gave it a well deserved 5 stars – I absolutely adored it. So when I got the opportunity to interview Tiffany Tsao, I jumped at it. Click through to read a summary of this incredible read, and the questions (non-spoilery, I promise) that I was eager to ask!
