Sorcery of Thorns was one of the first eARCs that I read, and the day I finished it I ordered An Enchantment of Ravens because I was enchanted (excuse the pun) with Margaret Rogerson's writing. Since then, she's been an insta-buy author for me, and this has just solidified my decision. As much as I love Sorcery of Thorns, Vespertine is definitely my new favourite. Rating: 5 stars!
When The Last Graduate showed up on my doorstep, I threw out my entire TBR to jump into it as soon as possible. I wasn't disappointed in the slightest, though I think it's possible that waiting for the third book might kill me. The Last Graduate picks up exactly where A Deadly Education left off, with barely seconds passing, so I highly recommend rereading as the back-to-back experience is excellent. Rating: 5 stars!
I adored Kalynn Bayron's debut, CINDERELLA IS DEAD, and so I had to request THIS POISON HEART when I saw that gorgeous cover. If you like Black girl magic, Little Shop of Horrors and gothic atmospheres, this is the perfect book. Rating: 5 stars!
The Martian is undeniably one of my favourite books, so I was so hyped for Project Hail Mary. As soon as the audiobook was available, I jumped straight into it, knowing I loved The Martian's audiobook so much. And Project Hail Mary? It did not disappoint. This is going on the favourite book list for sure. Rating: 5 stars.
This series is one of my absolute favourite fantasy series of all time. This was one of my most anticipated releases of 2021, so when Tor sent me a copy early, I threw my entire TBR away to reread the series and jump into the next instalment.
I adored Red, White and Royal Blue so much when I read it in 2019 so obviously I had to get my hands on this. Fortunately, it absolutely stood up to the hype. Rating 5 stars.
I was absolutely heartbroken when I didn't get an ARC of this one (et tu Hachette) and so as soon as this one released I listened to the entire audiobook in one sitting whilst doing a particularly evil jigsaw. As long as it still counts as one sitting if I had to keep pausing it to pace in and out of the living room to yell about how stressed I was over this incredible Greek mythology based story. Rating: 5 stars!
I love these superqueeroes, and this is absolutely my favourite discovery of 2020. I adore this series and each book is better than the one before. There's an outside chance that this might be my perfect book. Sapphics, mutants, a sentient bat and Pillow. If you like funny, nerdy prose and superqueero characters, this is your perfect book too. Not to mention look at that cover, all three volumes (two released and one upcoming) have covers as beautiful as the content. Rating: 5 stars
I had high expectations for this witchy, feminist book and Alix E. Harrow smashed every single one of them. This book is everything to me and I cannot stop thinking about it. Rating: 5 stars
